At IMLS, we periodically have to add or update rules to comply with NAR and our data integrity intact. Many of the issues and complaints brought to our attention are related to someone not knowing that we had a rule or unaware that the rule had changed. Our goal is to help prevent some of the issues and complaints by education, and we think this will be an essential step in making the experience better for everyone participating in IMLS.
It is required for all agents, brokers, and appraisers to retake the IMLS Rules Class every two (2) years, either in-person or online. The online class requires a test to be completed and passed. If you took the class in 2019 or 2020, you must retake it by the end of this year. If you took the class in 2021 or already this year, you will be not be required to retake it until 2023 or 2024.

To see if you have completed the Rules Class in 2021 or 2022 follow these steps:
- Login to the IMLS Portal and go to Events
- Click on “My Classes”
- Find the IMLS Rules Orientation (with a 2019 or 2020 date) If you see “Certificate” you have completed the requirement
